Although Leslie Lamport has stated [5] that one should not try and write one document-style option to be used with all the standard document styles of L^ATEX, that is exactly what I have done with this system of style options. The reasons for this approach will be explained in section .

A lot of the ideas incorporated in this set of files come from the work of Hubert Partl [4], german.tex. Some parts in the implementation are different, others are the same. It will be shown that german.tex can be modified to fit into this scheme of style options.
